Trick or Treat...

smell my feet,

give me something good to eat.

If you don't, I don't care,

I'll just go in my underwear!!!

And that is exactly what Jenna did. We got all dressed up as Tinkerbell and right before we walked out the door to Trick-or-Treat, Jenna pulled off her dress and refused to put it back on. So we let her go to a few houses of only the neighbors we know well and trick-or-treat.

The night before was a different story. I didn't buy a costume this year. We have so many dress up clothes that I just let Jenna picked what she wanted to be. Our neighborhood has a party at the park, so we went to that on Friday night.

We got to the park and played games, painted a pumpkin and played with friends. And then Annie B showed up and Jenna dropped everything she was doing and ran to greet Raggedy Anne.

How cute are they? Annie B won cutest costume this year. Jenna didn't make it to the contest this year- we were too tired.

This morning we went to our friend's Christi and Grady's house for some yummy food, football, crafts and more. The kids had the best time together.

We made Halloween shaped sugar cookies.

And Crafty Christi had the kids sponge paint pumpkins. So fun!

Halloween really turned into a whole weekend celebration and man am I tired! But we are thankful for such wonderful friends to celebrate with!

VEGAS with BABY!

Jeb and I spent the last 4 days in Las Vegas for a little vacation. We booked this trip before we knew I was pregnant. We went to Vegas over a year ago and I remember looking at other woman who were pregnant or had kids with them and thinking why in the world would you come to Vegas pregnant?! They must really have a problem or something!
Well, foot in mouth, and 7 1/2 months pregnant- Vegas here we come!!!


The first night Jeb bought tickets for a show but wouldn't tell me what it was till right before we walked in. He thought I might not want to go or think it was dumb so it was a surprise. My husband knows me so well because if he had told me we were going to see a ventriloquist, I would have rolled my eyes and sighed. We went to see Terry Fator, the winner of America's Got Talent, and he was SO funny! I loved it! He did all kinds of impersonations and was hilarious! Way to go Jeb!

I have a new respect for people that can talk and sing with their mouths closed.

The next day we ate dinner at the top of the Eiffel Tower. We did this last year and it was my favorite meal of the trip. I thought about that salad for a year and when I got it again, it didn't disappoint. There's a great view of The Strip and the water show at The Bellagio.

The next night we ate a yummy dinner with my sister and brother-in-law at CraftSteak. The chef is from one of those cooking shows but I don't watch those so I can't remember his name. I think he's bald and mean. Delish!

The real reason we went on this trip was because of these guys: U2. Anyone that knows my husband, knows that he is obsessed with U2. Jeb already traveled to Boston to see them in concert twice, but I guess he thought I needed to experience it for myself. I didn't really know how Dylan would feel about this but he was a good sport and we had an amazing time. The Black Eyed Peas opened for U2 and got the crowd pumped up!

Asked the guy next to us to take a picture with the stage behind us. Hmmm. That didn't quite work out. But the concert was awesome and we had a blast!

I think we're going to take a break from Vegas and be doing some more family friendly vacations in the near future. But it was so great to get away and spend quality time with Jeb (and Valerie and Todd). I sure did miss Jenna but it was comforting to know she was with 2 of her favorite people, Grandma and Pop Pop. Thanks for taking such good care of Jenna!

True Love

True Love is sitting quietly together, not having to say a word, but being totally content.

True Love is when he makes you smile, for no reason at all.

True love makes you speechless.

True Love also takes you on magic carpet rides.

But please don't tell Evan that I LOVE to stare at pictures of Aladdin and Prince Eric.

Jenna's big girl room

My parents spent last weekend with us and our main goal was to turn Jenna's room into a "big girl room." My mom is quite crafty and loves to do this kind of stuff so I was so glad to have her here.

Grandad put together Jenna's new bed. I was a little worried she might not like it because she LOVED her toddler bed but she was thrilled about it. We took out the changing table and added this dresser.

Anyone that comes over, Jenna wants to show her room to, but as soon as I ask her to pose for some pictures in her room- this is what she does. Typical Jenna

Jenna got all new bedding, a new rug (or grass as she calls it), a new lamp (my mom added the ribbon trim), curtains (they have cute ruffles on them but you can't tell from the picture), and some other new accessories. Almost everything came from Marshall's or Target- love those stores!
We took out the rocking chair and my mom let me have this chair. She's going to make a slip cover for it next time she comes. Since I have no lap anymore, it's been hard for both of us to fit in her old rocking chair, so it's nice to have a chair we can both sit in.

My mom painted this piece antique white. It was pink but the pink didn't match the new room.

Finally got Jenna in her bed. But this is the best picture I could get.

Thanks to Granna and Grandad for all their hard work! Jenna loves her room. She's yet to fall out of the bed too! Now for the nursery! I kinda starting panicking last night when I realized I was in my third trimester already!

John "Dylan" Lock

has a name! After lots of debate and discussion. Jeb and I had a girl name all along but have had a really hard time agreeing on a boy name. Jeb wanted to use John to honor his dad but we knew we didn't want to call him John. We've always liked Dylan. It fits our "criteria." We don't know any Dylan's, it's 2 syllables, it can't be shortened and we thought is was a good, strong name. (Plus his initial's will be the same as Jeb's.) We didn't like the way Dylan John Lock sounded, so we have decided on John Dylan Lock and are going to call him Dylan. The school teacher in me had a hard time with this. Will he show up to school with "John" written on his desk and cubby? When the teacher takes roll, will she call "John." But after talking to numerous friends who go by their middle names, I got over it. And Dylan it is!
Last week, Jenna and I met Jeb's mom at a fabric store in San Marcus to look for stuff for Dylan's nursery. Again, boy stuff has been harder for me but as soon as I saw this one fabric, I loved it and knew it was just what I wanted.

This will be used for a quilt. The stripes and dots will be used for the bumper and bed skirt with the grey/blue for piping.

I plan on framing the giraffe, lion and elephant for some wall decor.

I'm always so amazed by what Jeb's mom and grandmother can create and can't wait to see it all come together!

This weekend, my parents came to town and my mom and I worked on Jenna's big girl room. As soon as all the furniture drys, I will post pictures. It's adorable and she loves her new twin bed that Grandad built her!
