Thanksgiving-Backwards

I accidentally downloaded all my Thanksgiving pictures in the wrong order so here are pictures from our week in Lockhart backwards.

Jenna had loads of fun drawing with sidewalk chalk. I don't know much about art, but I think it's quite beautiful work.

We walked to a park and Jenna had a blast. She could have played there for hours. She thinks she's such a big girl and doesn't want any help from mommy or daddy.

I have hardly any pictures with Jenna and me so of course when I try to get one, she is totally unhappy.

Goldilocks and the 3 Chairs

Here are some pics of Jenna I have been meaning to post. She is full of personality and so much fun!

What is that on her head you might ask? Jenna loves my headbands and if ever she spots one she wants it on will keep it on for hours. She pulls out all clips and bows though.

So I bought a pair of gloves at Target the other day and just got them out for Jenna. She was immediately fascinated by them. She kept them on while doing puzzles and then took them off. She would NOT let me help her put them back on and kept trying herself.

She sat on the floor for at least 5 minutes trying to put them on.Then decided to move to her Jenna chair. This did not work so..

she went to the leather chair. Again, no luck but she thought she was pretty funny.

So, she moved on to the couch. She never got the gloves on but had a fun time trying!

I guess I didn't do a good job of brushing Jenna's hair after her bath because she was totally reminding me of Loyd from Dumb and Dumber.

Birthday Weekend

This weekend was my 30th birthday and it was the best birthday weekend ever! Jeb surprised me Friday and got us a room at Hotel Valencia on the Riverwalk. We had such a wonderful time hanging out just the two of us, eating yummy food and just having quality time together.

Saturday night we went bowling with a groups of friends and asked our guest to dress up. Surprisingly enough, most people dressed up and we had a blast.

When you have a precious husband, beautiful daughter and amazing friends, turning 30 is not too bad at all! And a big THANK YOU to my in-laws, Grandma and Pop Pop, for watching Jenna the whole weekend so Jeb and I could have so much fun.

You'll Never Guess...

where the Locks went today- the zoo! I think this is like the 10th post I've made about going to the zoo. Jeb got off work early and since the weather was so beautiful we headed off to the zoo. There are not many people at the zoo on a Wednesday afternoon so we felt like we had the place to ourselves!

So Big!

This is one of Jenna's favorite books, So Big! If you can see in the picture she has "loved" on this particular page quite a bit. Elmo lost a few fingers and his head is torn. The last page of the book asks, "How big is baby Elmo?" and Elmo pops up and says, "So big!"

Jenna's Grandma kept Jenna for the day and when I got home Jenna could do this trick..

If you ask Jenna, "How big is baby Jenna?"

She throws her arms up like the page in the book.

If you don't have kids this might not seem that cool but to a first time parent, we think she's a genius and we'll be telling this story to Oprah one day!

Another favorite book is "Pat the Puppy". On one page, there is a scratch and sniff brownie. Jeb showed Jenna how to sniff the page and even though I don't think she is really sniffing, she sticks her nose on this page every time she gets to it.
Mmmmm. Smells good!

Again, genius.

Jeb and I are hoping that this is not a sign of things to come but here is Jenna crawling out the window of her house.

(I realize this makes me look like a poor mother but I figured the fall was not very far and she had nice mulch to break her fall. She just got up and crawled back through the window into her house.)
