Bottle Time

Yesterday, I mean over two years ago, Jeb gave Jenna her first bottle. And this weekend, Jenna got to give Dylan his first bottle.

Jenna and Jeb- September 2007
Dylan, Jeb, and Jenna- Jan. 2010

Jenna got really excited when she saw me making the bottle for Dylan but was a little nervous to help Jeb with it. She would touch the bottle and then take her hand away real fast- like a hot potato.

Jenna thinks it's so funny when Dylan "touches" or "hits" her. He obviously had no idea what he's doing but she'll laugh and say "Dylan touched my face!!!"

Will Dylan recognize his sister if she's NOT wearing her beautiful dress?

Getting bigger and cuter every day.

B is for Bubba

Do any of you find yourself calling your children by goofy nicknames? Because for some reason, I can't stop calling Dylan, "Bubba." I don't mean to or really want to but it just comes out of my mouth, a lot. Today, Dylan started crying and Jenna ran over to him and said, "It's OK Bubba."
So I fear that Dylan is going to be stuck with the nickname Bubba. Not sure how I feel about this...

Bubba?!

Kinda scared how alike these two look in this picture.

So what's Jenna up to? Same old, same old. Wearing her "beautiful dress" and washing the floors. Oh, and not letting me brush her hair. Can you tell?!

Bubba's feet were dirty so Cinderella washed them too! How sweet?!

TWO BABIES!

Jenna has been very into baby dolls for awhile now so I thought that when Dylan came, she'd be my little helper. I pictured her helping me give Dylan baths or changing diapers. But when we brought Dylan home, I learned I now have two babies. Jenna started wanting us to swaddle her, rock her, started talking baby talk and so on.

If Dylan is swaddled, Jenna requests to be. (And yes, she got her paci back at night after Dylan came home. It added almost 2 hours of sleep in the morning- so who cares?!)
My two babies.
Jenna pulled up this chair next to Dylan and is displaying some pictures she just made.
Please note Cinderella's dress and constant chapstick application.

My real baby. So precious.

Love. Love. Love.

If she's not acting like a baby, she's a princess. Jenna spent at least 30 minutes today "scrubbing" the floors like Cinderella. As she scrubbed, she was saying, "Cinderella do this! Cinderella do that!"

Too Much Drama for this Mama!

As a Christmas gift, Jeb's grandmother made Jenna her very own, one of a kind, princess dress. It has lace, ruffles, and even "swooshes" when you turn in it. It's fabulous and Jenna is well, obsessed. I am not exaggerating when I say that Jenna has worn this dress EVERY SINGLE DAY since she received it. She LOVES her "beautiful dress". She rips off her PJ's every morning and request to wear it- not matter how cold it is in the house or outside.
She also has stopped going by the name Jenna but prefers/demands to be called Cinderella, Jasmine or Ariel. If I call her Jenna or baby- she quickly corrects me "No, Mama! I'm Cinderella!" Jeb has now become "Prince". Which I guess leads me to be the wicked stepmother.
She takes this very serious and gets very frustrated with me if I don't remember which princess she is for the day.

Dancing her heart out in her beautiful dress.
Nanny took the material from an old formal of Jeb's aunt and made the dress. She's genius and so thoughtful! But too bad Nanny doesn't live closer so she can come and hand wash this dress- which I have to do almost every day now!

Jenna has stopped letting me do her hair. In fact, she screams when I even try to brush it. You'd think that since she wants to wear formal wear all day long, she'd at least run a brush through her hair. But then again, that's just so Jenna.

Another one of Jenna's favorite Christmas gifts was some chapstick in her stocking. She walks around the house smearing it on her lips, cheeks, and chin. Here I was trying to get a picture of Jenna and Dylan next to each other. Jenna refused to put down the chapstick and Dylan is screaming. Lovely.

Life with two kids has been great so far. This week we were back in the swing of things with school, church and MOPS. So far so good! Jenna has been so good with Dylan. I thought she would be more jealous when I was feeding him but she doesn't seem that interested. The first week we brought him home she started waking up at 5 am and having "accidents" but now that we are back to our normal schedule, she's back to hers.

Happy Due Date!

Everything they have told me is true. You can love another child as much as you love your first. And there's just something about mommas and their boys. I'm so in love with my little man. I can't get enough of him. He's only been here for 3 weeks but I can't imagine our family without him.

Dylan's Crib

Once again, I was blessed to have the talents of both grandmother's to decorate Dylan's nursery. Since he was so early, it wasn't ready when he was born but my mom has been working really hard to pull it all together. There's still a few little things I want to do, but here's a sneak peak.

Jeb's mom helped pick out and bought all the fabric for the bedding and sewed the quilt on the chair.
My sweet neighbor, Stephanie, painted this monogram for above his crib.

My mom added some fabric to the curtains and recovered the rocking chair. I must learn to sew!

We framed some of the fabric and bought this dresser as a changing table.

Taking pictures of newborns is not that easy! I took a ton the other morning and didn't feel like any of them did justice to how cute Dylan is. But here are a few...

Love all this hair!
So serious!

We are still doing great. Dylan, so far, has been such an easy baby. He's sleeping and eating great. I'm tyring to cherish this time with him because now I really know how fast it goes!
