All Aboard!

I know I have been really bad about blogging lately. It's mainly because my camera is the worst ever! Jeb and I got a cheap digital camera right before our honeymoon and it's just time to get a new one! And since my birthday and Christmas are coming up, I'm hoping to get one soon (hint, hint..).

Jenna and I had a playdate at the zoo yesterday. Well, if you know Jeb, you know that he LOVES the zoo. So as I'm leaving for the zoo with Jenna, Jeb calls to tell us that he took a change of clothes to work and is meeting us there. So it was 6 moms, their kids, and Jeb on the playdate! The weather was beautiful and we had a really great time! The highlight being when one of the monkeys somehow got out of his cage and starting climbing all around the fence outside!! It was pretty exciting!

After the zoo, we rode the train. Jenna was pretty restless during the ride but Jeb and I had fun!

I heart Kirk Cameron!

Yes, you read that correctly. I love Kirk Cameron. I was a huge Growing Pains fan growing up. I actually wrote a letter to Kirk Cameron professing my undying love for him. Just letting him know, I would love him forever. (I also sent Alyssa Malono a letter letting her know I think I could be her best friend!)
A few months ago, my sweet grandmother, Grammy, sent me Kirk's new autobiography, Still Growing. I couldn't put it down and finished it in 2 days. I loved learning of how Kirk became a Christian on the set of Growing Pains, became an outsider in Hollywood because of his new beliefs and met his wife on the set as well. It was really inspiring to hear stories of how he put Christ first in an industry where that is so frowned upon.

Last night, a group of girls from my MOPS small group, when to see Kirk's new movie, Fireproof. It was made by the same people that did Facing the Giants. Kirk played a fire chief, whose marriage was falling apart and could only be salvaged by the grace of God. It was a really sweet movie. Lots of tears where shed by all of the girls I went with. It was so nice to sit in a theater and watch a movie that had no profanity, nudity or anything else that makes you squirm in your seat. (Am I getting old or what!?)
I recommend it to anyone that is looking for a feel good movie. I think it taps into a topic that lots of woman don't want to talk about. SO grab your honey or some girlfriends and a few tissues!

Kirk won't kiss anyone other than his wife, even in movies. So he had his real wife stand in during the kissing scenes in the movie. How cute is that!?

Queen Jenna

Since Jenna started crawling and walking, she hasn't stopped moving. She basically just does laps around the house, usually holding some random object. She's not really into cartoons or TV. The only DVD that she will watch is a Praise Baby DVD. But there is one thing that will make Jenna stop in her tracks and stare at the TV in a trance... Queen.
Yes, Queen, the 80's rock band (We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody). There are few things that Jeb watches on TV; sports & concerts. Jeb has quite a collection of concert DVDs that he watches repeatedly and VH1 Classic Concerts that he has recorded. One of these concerts is an old 80's Live Aid charity concert that has many famous artist performing; U2, Paul McCartney, Elton John, David Bowie, Madonna and Queen.
As soon as Queen comes on the TV screen, Jenna is in a trance. Her eyes never leave the screen and she is perfectly still. As soon as Queen stops performing, Jenna goes on with her business.
I don't know why but Jeb and I find it hilarious. Is it the tune of the song she likes, Freddy Mercury's creepy mustache or tight jeans? I don't know but Jenna is a fan!
